Digital Camera System
The camera system inside the aircraft consists of the camera, a computing unit (SCU) and a mobile server (MSU) to transfer data from the aircraft to the office system.

The camera itself has eight lens cones and thirteen CCD (charged coupled device) arrays. The four lens cones along the centre contain panchromatic CCD sensors. The four large ones capture imagery in the red, green, blue and near infra-red parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is capable of capturing high resolution panchromatic, colour and near infra-red imagery.
The imagery can be stored in 8 and 16 bit options. This is achieved using the 13 CCD arrays by capturing small areas and stitching them together to form a single image.
At maximum working capabilities, on a single day it would be expected that 750Gb of disk space would be used, which represents approximately 2700 images.
