Optech ALTM 3100

BLOM Aerofilms also use an Optech ALTM 3100 EA LiDAR system mounted in a fixed wing aircraft.  The Optech 3100 system can collect up to 100,000 3-dimensional points per second and is sufficiently dense as to acquire ground data below trees and vegetation.  Digital imagery can also be acquired at the same time as capture of the LiDAR data.

This system is ideal for covering large areas quickly and has been used successfully in coastal monitoring projects and production of a DTM for Belfast City.
